Our Pre-Nursery Programme is thoughtfully designed to initiate pre-learning skills in the key areas of language, numeracy and writing, laying the foundation for a smooth transition into formal schooling. At this stage, the focus shifts from introduction to recognition-helping children identify letters, numbers, shapes, colours and basic concepts with clarity and confidence.
We believe that early exposure to these skills, when delivered in an engaging and age-appropriate manner, sparks enthusiasm for learning. Our activities are designed to be hands-on, interactive and joyful, encouraging children to connect learning with fun. This approach ensures that their first experiences with academics are positive, building a strong association with school as a happy place.
In the Pre-Nursery class, we foster self-directed learning through play, giving children the freedom to explore and discover at their own pace. With a plethora of learning options-from puzzles and building blocks to art stations and sensory activities-children are encouraged to make choices, which develops their decision-making skills and promotes autonomy.
The programme also focuses on social and emotional growth by promoting sharing, teamwork, communication and self-confidence. Fine motor skills are strengthened through pre-writing exercises and craft activities, while gross motor skills are enhanced through structured physical play.
By the end of the Pre-Nursery year, children not only develop essential academic readiness but also acquire independence, curiosity and a love for learning-qualities that set them up for success in their Nursery and beyond.
